Developing Personal Force

Components of Personal Force
Personal Force is comprised of three individual forces-- will, awareness, and conviction--that work in harmony and create a resultant single force.

Will: Being determined to accomplish your goal
Will is the most basic life force because it is derived from the will to survive. To move beyond merely surviving life, one must be determined, intentional and self-disciplined to thrive and flourish. Each time we direct our mind to a purpose, we develop and strengthen our will.

Awareness: Being alert to success factors
Awareness is being conscious, alert, and mindful of our surroundings. Each time we focus and concentrate our attention, we exercise our awareness. All education, skill acquisition and performance enhancement is based upon one’s efforts to control and direct attention, thereby developing the force of awareness. Individuals who have achieved exceptional results, particularly in sports performance, have keen awareness. Many of baseball’s greatest hitters can see the spin on a ball just after it leaves the pitcher’s hands, and know exactly how to hit the ball to achieve their objectives.

Conviction: Being sure that you can succeed
Conviction is a kind of belief derived from being convinced; however, it involves much more than our simple understanding of belief. Conviction is really a kind of inner knowing that allows you to know and to know that you know. Knowing that you know is important and implies self-confidence and certainty about your ability to produce results. The power of belief is the force of conviction and makes things happen.
